Roger (Gilbert) Lancelyn Green was born November 2, 1918, in Norwich, England, and died October 8, 1987, in London, England. He was an editor and anthologist, and also wrote books both for children and for adults. He edited journals on Kipling and Sherlock Holmes, assisted in editing the letters of Lewis Carroll, and translated Sophocles and Euripides.
