Biographical History
Eve Peri was largely self-taught. She was inspired by Matisse's paintings to become an artist and was influenced by Zerual Higley Gurnsey in her textiles work.
Fiber artist; Philadelphia, Pa.
Peri was born in 1897 in Bangor, Me. She moved to New York City in her twenties, and worked as a designer. She began exhibiting her fabric collages in the 1930s. In the 1950s she moved to Philadelphia, and opened a store in New Hope featuring her wall hangings, collages, and other household items. Peri died in 1966.
