Biographical History

John Fabian, native of South Carolina, was a resident of St. Paul's Parish, just north of Charleston, South Carolina. He served under the command of General Lincoln at the Siege of Savannah in 1779. During the siege he was wounded and during his recovery complied with the British government to avoid being imprisoned. Following his recovery he volunteered for service again and was under the command of Colonel William Harden. In August 1781, he was wounded in both arms, leaving his hands crippled.
