Biographical History
Artist and children's author. O'Harris' published works include "The fairy who wouldn't fly" (1946) and "Marmaduke the possum" (1947). See "Who's who in Australia, 1950", p. 548.
Pixie O'Harris, born in Wales in 1903, emigrated to Australia in 1920, becoming one of leading children's book illustrators and authors. Several generations of Australians have been brought up on books written by her. She was recognised by various medals and an M.B.E as well as made Patron of the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children. She died in 1990.
