Biographical History
James A. Holden was a Trustee and Treasurer of the Association. He also served as New York State Historian from 1911 to 1916. Frederick B. Richards was Assistant Secretary of the Association. Both men lived in Glens Falls, N.Y. and conducted Association business there.
The Historical Records Survey was a special program under the auspices of the Works Progress Administration (later Works Projects Administration) to prepare inventories and bibliographical guides that would make unpublished records and papers held by local archives and historical repositories more accessable.
