Biographical History

Charles L. Huston, Inc., was incorporated in Delaware on December 28, 1923, as a general holding and investment company for the family of Charles Lukens Huston (1856-1951), an executive and part owner of the Lukens Steel Company of Coatesville, Pa. The new company held securities of Lukens Steel, as well as those of other companies bought as investments. All the shareholders were members of the Huston family. Regulation of investment companies was increased during the New Deal in reaction to the excesses of the 1920s. Charles L. Huston, Inc., was dissolved on December 28, 1939.
