Army officer.
Putnam is best known as a Revolutionary War general, instrumental to the success of the Battle of Bunker Hill. He was a resident of Pomfret, Connecticut.
George Starr managed a small shoe and leather goods factory in Middletown, Conn. and was a commissary during the Revolution.
Continental Army general; resident of Brooklyn, Conn., in Windham County.
Putnam was Major General of the Continental Army.
