Biographical History
Henry Howard Harper (1871-1953), American writer and editor. He served for years as an officer for The Bibliophile Society of Boston, and produced several works privately printed by that group, including The Letters of Charles Lamb (1905); Byron's Malach Hamoves (1918); and Letters of Mary W. Shelley (1918).
Treasurer of the Bibliophile Society and author.
Harper wrote and privately printed BOETHIUS AND DANTE, WITH ECHOES AND LOVE LAMENTS OF THE EARLY ITALIAN RENAISSANCE..., Torch Press, 1930. This letter was enclosed in the book which he sent to Mr. Gunst. Included in the folder is a second autograph letter signed to Mr. Gunst from "Peter F., " nd, re his fine binding of the book, SUICIDE CLUB. There is no connection to the first letter.
Harper was the treasurer of the Bibliophile Society, as well as authoring eight novels and a collection of essays, "The Tides of Fate."
