Biographical History

Ruth Mabel Stoddard Kimball Weaver (1917-2009) was the wife of Max Dickson Weaver.

Ruth Mabel Stoddard Kimball was born December 28, 1917, in Ogden, Utah, to Edwin Cleveland and Jennie Smith Stoddard. After her mother died, her father sent her to live with her aunt Marie Smith Kimball. She graduated from Logan High School and attended school at Utah State University. On December 20, 1938, she married Max Dickson Weaver. She received her degree in education from Southern Utah State College and later taught at Hillcrest Elementary for fifteen years. Ruth and Max served a mission to Nauvoo from 1982 to 1984. She passed away August 1, 2009. She was the mother of six children.

Max Dickson Weaver (born 1917) was a professor of art at Brigham Young University (BYU).

Max Dickson Weaver was born March 14, 1917 in Layton, Utah, to David Christopher and Sophia Dickson Weaver. He received his bachelor's degree in 1939 and his master's in art from Utah State University in 1955. He taught art for more than forty years at Helper Junior High School, Cyprus High School, Logan High School, Utah State University, Southern Utah University, and Brigham Young University. He retired from BYU in 1982. His artwork includes paintings, prints, jewelry, and crafts. Max married Ruth Mabel Stoddard Kimball December 20, 1938, and they are the parents of six children.
