Biographical History

The Quimichis Colony was an American-financed firm that acquired 75,000 acres of land on the west coast of Mexico between Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta for the growing of bananas, sugar cane, pineapple, corn and other agricultural products. Richard Bard, son of Senator and Union Oil Company of California president Thomas Robert Bard (1841-1915), was president of the Quimichis Colony.
