Oklahoma A & M College.

The historic packet was assembled by Dr. Berlin B. Chapman's history class to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College (OAMC) in 1941. The materials were selected to provide a profile of the institution and world events at the time of the anniversary. Included in the packet are messages, written by attendees at a fiftieth anniversary banquet held on December 15, 1941, to be read at the College's centennial celebration. These messages, along with other memorabilia and three record books of the College, were sealed in a metal box labelled "Secrets of the Century" and placed in the historic packet. The historic packet's contents were sealed in a time capsule and placed in a wall in the lobby of the Edmon Low library when it was constructed in 1951. It was removed from the wall during the centennial anniversary of OAMC/Oklahoma State University in 1990.

Founded December 1890 as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College; officially became Oklahoma State University in 1957.
