Ramsay Douglas Potts, Jr. (b. Oct. 24, 1916, Memphis, Tenn.-d. May 28, 2006, Boynton Beach, Fla.), U.S. Air Force Reserve officer, graduated from university in 1941. During World War II, he was a combat pilot with the 8th Air Force, flying B-24s in missions over France, North Africa, and Romania. He became director of bombing operations, 8th Air Force and, after the War, was a military adviser to the U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey. In addition, after the War, General Potts graduated from Harvard University law school and was a special assistant to then-Air Force Secretary, W. Stuart Symington. He retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1972.
