Biographical History

This congregation was formed in 1910 when a group of German immigrants from South Russia met in a home in Marsh, Montana.

The congregation was initially served by Circuit Rider Pastors, and in 1914 Rev. Hans Janner came as the first resident, full-time pastor. The ancestry of the congregation is almost entirely that of German roots. Services were held in both German and English until 1955.

The location of services has changed frequently. The first services were held in a rural church 17 miles from the present location. That congregation merged with Jehovah Lutheran Church in Marsh. Then the Marsh congregation merged in February of 1959 with the Fallon congregation. The Marsh building was moved to Fallon in 1960 and serves as the congregation’s home today.
