Biographical History

LLW, born in 1896, received the A.B. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1918 and the M.A. degree in 1920. LLW worked as an interior decorator and lecturer, and wrote American Neutrality: Toward a Collective Peace System . She served on the boards of several organizations concerned with women, civil liberties and international relations. The bulk of her time, and the subject of her papers, was the League of Women Voters of the U.S. She was secretary of the LWV, 1932-1934, chair of the Committee on Government and International Cooperation, and of the Committee on Publications.
