Biographical History

Frederick W. Harding (1878-1975) was born in Leeds, England. He received a BA in 1904 and a DD in 1933, both from Colgate University. He graduated from the Hamilton Theological Seminary in 1907, and was ordained a Baptist minister on September 9, 1907. He married Nellie N. Hurd (1880-1971), and the couple had two children who died in infancy. He had a missionary appointment for Tura, Assam, India, with the Garo mission, and he arrived there on November 8, 1907. This mission was directed by the American Baptist Missionary Union, which was renamed the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society, and is today the Board of International Ministries. Harding retired in 1945, and died in Edmeston, New York.
