Biographical History
John Stuart McKenzie (1922-2005) was a graphic designer and editorial cartoonist from Atlanta, Georgia. A native of Canada, he served as a Royal Canadian Air Force bomber in World War II. McKenzie graduated from Emory University in 1948 and was on the staff of the Emory Wheel. After a short stint as an editorial cartoonist at The Atlanta Journal, he began working as a graphic designer and printing executive, retiring from the Stein Printing Company in 1995. McKenzie also freelanced as a graphic designer and calligrapher. He married Virginia Lee Brown; together they had three daughters and a son.
