Biographical History

George Washington Corner worked as an anatomist, endocrinologist, and medical historian.

From the guide to the George Washington Corner papers, 1889-1981, 1903-1982, (American Philosophical Society)

Alfred C. Kinsey, most famous for his work on human sexual behavior, was a world authority on gallflies, also known as Cynipidae or gall wasps.

Kinsey began his entomological studies in 1917, eventually traveling to 54 locations in 36 states, and accumulating a collection of 4 million specimens by 1938, when the focus of his research changed. The American Museum of Natural History, to which Kinsey donated his collection, published four of his papers on gallflies in its Bulletin.

From the description of Entomological papers, [1917?]-1941 (bulk [1917?]-1938). (American Museum of Natural History). WorldCat record id: 56209531
