Biographical History

The Castle Rock (Colo.) Unit of the World Association of Mothers for Peace (WMP) was formed in 1950 under the guidance of Victoria Booth-Clibborn Demarest who founded the national organization in 1947. Mrs. Howard (Lillian) Pine was instrumental in the formation of the Castle Rock Unit. The organization promoted world peace grounded in Christian teachings and the love of mothers for their children, and appealed to mothers worldwide to unite against war. The local unit affiliated with the United Nations Association of the United States in 1964, and disbanded in 1971.
