D. from New York University, 1968; married Ruth Freed, 1946; had three children; worked with Samuel Shoemaker in the Calvary Clergy School of Calvary Episcopal Church, NYC, and the Goodwill Home and Rescue Mission in Newark, 1942-1945; ordained by the Presbyterian Church USA, 1949; pastored churches in Paterson and Ringwood, NJ, 1950-1958; worked with and then directed Trans World Radio, 1958-1966; executive secretary of National Religious Broadcasters, 1966-
