Biographical History

Fay Hampton Robertson, compiler of the family histories held in the collection, was the daughter of Laura Henrietta Dillard and Horace Hampton. A resident of Eugene, Oregon, she took it upon herself to record her family's stories after retiring from her career as an elementary school principal.

The son of William and Eleanor Limerick Moore, Jonathan Limerick Moore (1830-1862) was a pioneer and diarist who traveled from Missouri to Oregon, March 3 to Sept. 16, 1852. His sister, Sarah Ann Moore (1828-1855) also travelled to Oregon, in 1853, where she started a small school in what is now the Masonic cemetery.

From the guide to the Moore, Hampton, Dillard family papers, 1852-1964, (Special Collections and University Archives, University of Oregon Libraries)
