Biographical History

Richard Upjohn (1802-1878) was an English-born architect who practiced in Boston and New York City.

He designed Gothic Revival churches, including Trinity Church in New York City, houses and civil buildings. He was founder and first president (1857-1876) of the American Institute of Architects.
