Leland, Ora Miner (1876-1962) -- also known as Ora M. Leland -- of New York. Born in Grand Haven, Ottawa County, Mich., June 28, 1876. Progressive. Candidate for New York state engineer and surveyor, 1912. Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Minnesota; developed the Aeronautical Engineering Department in 1928-29. Died March 30, 1962 (age 85 years, 275 days). Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn. (Source, PoliticalGraveyard.com).
