Porter, Elmer R.

Porter was born Aug. 16, 1888. He married Jennie L. King, and together they had five children. A farmer by occupation, Porter was elected to the Michigan State Senate in 1936, serving from 1936 through 1964. (Information from the Michigan manual, 1964.) King was a Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. Brucker (1894-1968) served as Michigan Assist. Prosecuting Attorney, 1922-1929; Attorney General, 1929-1930; and Governor, 1931-1932.
