Originally, the Student Leadership Development Department was part of Student Life. In 1997-98 the department was divided. Prior to the division the department consisted of many activity, service, and business areas: Administrative, Leadership Development and Training, Leadership Seminars, WSC Building, Custodial, Guest Services, Campus Scheduling, Timp Lodge, Games Center, Word Center, Outdoors Unlimited, Candy Jar/Varsity Theater, Campus Craft and Floral, Student Programs, Photo Studio, ID Center, Cheer Squad, Marketing/Advertising, Service Leadership Involvement Center (SLIC), BYUSA, and Leadership and Y Group Conferences. As a result of the division, the activity and service areas remained under Student Life and the business and WSC Building areas moved to Student Auxiliary Services. The WSC Support Services office was created to manage the WSC Physical Facilities. The office also performs controllership and CNA functions for the building, Games Center, Outdoors Unlimited, WSC and MTC Barbershops, Timp Lodge, Spring Haven Lodge, and River Park.
