Biographical History

Arizona Engram (b. 1887?) was an African American teacher in Montezuma, Georgia. She and her husband, George S. Engram, had eight children, including William J. Engram (b. 1907?), who attended The Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute in Alabama in the early 1920s. In addition to teaching at the county school, Arizona Engram was active in the in the Georgia Federation of Colored Women's Clubs, an affiliate of the National Association of Colored Women.
