Membership was open to the faculty of the Agricultural & Mechanical College of Kentucky and also to the staff of the Agricultural Experimental Station of Kentucky. The club's first President was James Kennedy Patterson, then president of Agricultural & Mechanical College of Kentucky (now University of Kentucky). Joseph H. Kastle was the first Vice President, and R. N. Roark was the first Secretary/Treasurer. Members presented academic papers at meetings.
