Vivian Lescher Werner (1921-) was born in Bellingham, Washington and educated at Binnington College, where she studied music. Throughout her career she has been a free-lance writer for magazines, a novelist, and writer of books for children and young people. Her background in music and dance has shaped her writing. She married Steven L. Werner in 1943, but they were divorced by 1951. Some magazines with which Werner collaborated with over the years include Pathfinder, Overseas Weekly, and Pharmaceutical News . Werner was Nominated for Prix Formentor by International Formentor Committee in 1962 for The Breaking Wave .
