Michael Davis was one of the major figures in health care policy in the United States. He served as chairman of the Executive Committee of the Committee for the Nation's Health (CNH), incorporated in 1946 and abolished in 1956. Davis received a Ph.D. from Columbia in 1906. In Boston and then in New York, Davis led movements to extend dispensary services to people of moderate means.
