Biographical History
Lansingburgh, Rensselaer County, New York was founded in 1807 by Abraham Jacob Lansing, for whom it is named. It was first known as Stone Arabia, organized in 1771, on the eastern shore of the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers. The first act of incorporation occurred in 1790 as a part of the Town of Rensselaerwyck.
