Son of Sir Henry Gullett; educated at Geelong Grammar, the Sorbonne, and Oxford University and worked as a journalist for the Melbourne Herald. He held the federal seat of Henty from 1946 and 1955, and was Australia's Ambassador to Greece between 1965 and 1968.
