Oliphant, Dave

Dave Oliphant was born on July 18, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas. He earned a B.A. from Lamar State College of Technology, an M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Ph.D. from Northern Illinois University. Oliphant's distinguished career includes work as a poet, writer, editor, translator, and teacher. His writings include numerous collections of poetry and several books on the history of jazz. He has produced publications featuring his own work and that of other poets through his imprint, Prickly Pear Press.
