Biographical History

Artist and resident of Concord, Mass. Born in Cambridge, Mass., Dec. 1, 1855; died in Concord, Feb. 2, 1921. Worked as wood engraver on staff of Century magazine; also painted and carved in wood. Member of Concord's Trinity (Episcopal) Church. Supervised preparation of wreaths and bouquets to decorate graves of Concord's war dead each Memorial Day. Prepared list of World War I soldiers and sailors for Concord's roll of honor. Composed music for Zoe Mou, a comedy written by Alice W. Wheildon, presented in Concord Town Hall by members of the Frolic and Musical Clubs, Oct. 18-19, 1889, later elsewhere.
