Biographical History
Historian, author of numerous books on Texas and New Mexico history, including: "The Duke City: The story of Albuquerque, New Mexico, 1706-1956" (1963); "The Jicarilla Apaches of New Mexico, 1540-1967" (1967); "The Isom, Texas story" (1963). Correspondence discusses publication and sale of his books and research questions regarding Pie Grande (Big Foot), a Texas Indian legend, with William F. Kelleher, a New Jersey book dealer (1955-1961).
Catholic priest, author. Born in New York City, New York. Attended Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Moved to Hereford, Texas, in 1938, to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 1940, and later various other towns in Texas and New Mexico, including Socorro, Raton, Pecos, Dumas, and Canadian. Writing under the pseudonym of F. Stanley, he authored numerous books and pamphlets on Texas and New Mexico history, including "Desperados in New Mexico," "The Raton Chronicle, " and "Rodeo Town: Canadian Texas."
