Biographical History

The Hill family were early settlers of Texas and includes Asa Hill and James Monroe Hill fought in the Texas Revolution. Descendant George Alfred Hill greatly researched his family history and was president of Houston Oil Company. He was also as a founder of the San Jacinto Museum of History and served as president of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. Another descendent represented in the papers, Robert T. Hill was an esteemed geologist in the University of Texas Bureau of Economic Geology.
