Biographical History

Journalist. Marjorie Wilson Corrigan was the granddaughter of suffragette Anna Parnell Howard. As a student, she worked as an intern at the Ithaca Journal, and, after graduating from Cornell in 1913, she joined the staff of the Cleveland Leader. She reported on and championed the campaign leading to the passage of the 19th Amendment, and covered the 1920 Presidential campaign. She continued to report on a variety of issues, and her features were syndicated by Thompson Feature Service. She married Cleveland attorney William J. Corrigan, whom she met while covering a sensational murder trial in 1921. They had four children. In 2001, she was posthumously inducted into the Press Club of Cleveland's Journalism Hall of Fame.

Cornell University Class of 1913.
