Athlete and coach at Washington State University, Harry "Hack" Applequist attended WSU and received a degree in geology in 1916.
He played tackle on the undefeated 1915 football teamwhich went to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on January 1, 1916 and defeated Brown University. Athletic Director J. Fred Bohler later offered Applequist a position as assistant football coach and head baseball coach from 1923-1926. Applequist died November, 1976 in Sacramento at the age of 86.
