The Business and Professional Women's Club of East Cleveland was organized in 1956 as an affiliate of the Ohio Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. Its goals included the elevation of standards for women in business and the professions, promotion of the interests of and cooperation between business and professional women, and the extension of opportunities for women through education. Usually meeting in area restaurants, club members gathered monthly to offer one another fellowship, listen to programs, and tackle community projects such as the sponsorship of youth to Buckeye Girls' State, annual parties for the county nursing home patients, and collection of food for area welfare families. The club disbanded in the late 1970s.
