Biographical History
A native of Kentland, Ind., McCray was a banker and livestock breeder. In 1920 he was elected governor of Indiana and during his term experienced personal financial losses. In 1924 he resigned his office after being convicted of mail fraud and served three years in prison in Atlanta, Ga. He returned to Kentland to resume his livestock business and was later pardoned by President Herbert Hoover.
