Biographical History
The General Church Welfare Committee was changed to General Church Welfare Services Committee in late 1972. It retained this name until 1994, when the name was changed back to General Church Welfare Committee.
Rudd managed Welfare Square in Salt Lake City, Utah from the 1950s to the 1970s. During that time, he also served as president of the Florida Mission from 1966 to 1969 and president of the New Zealand Wellington Mission in 1978. He returned to New Zealand in 1984 to serve as president of the New Zealand Temple. In 1987, Rudd was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy, where he served until 1992.
