Biographical History
Charles J. Armstrong, a farmer from Greenville, Alabama, enlisted in Company C, 33rd Alabama Infantry, in March, 1862. He was wounded and lost a leg during the battle of Pickett's Mill (Georgia) in May, 1864, and was discharged in October, 1864.
W.E. Preston of Dale County, Alabama, enlisted in Company B, 33rd Alabama Infantry, in March, 1862. He was wounded at the battle of Franklin (Tennessee) in November, 1864. He entered a hospital in Macon, Georgia, in March 1865, where he remained until the end of the war.
