Biographical History

Putnam, a lawyer, was later a Massachusetts state senator (1808-1814) and a judge of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court (1814-1842). Tyng was appointed reporter for the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in 1805.
