Biographical History

Architect. Educated at Tufts University (B.S.,1926 and L.H.D.,1953); Harvard, (Master Arch. 1929); and Union College (LL.D.,1972). Dirlam began his architectural practice in Malden, MA in 1932. In 1955 he moved his office to Boston where he practiced until 1971. During the period of his retirement in Marblehead, he continued to do some designing until his death in 1979. Dirlam participated in the design, construction or alteration of some one thousand churches. He also designed several other public buildings and a few private residences.
