Louise Lawrence was born Elizabeth Rhoda Holden, June 5, 1943, in Leatherhead, Surrey, England. Louise Lawrence has a large and loyal following on the strength of fantasy and science-fiction novels. She was drawn to storytelling by her grandfather, whose fantastic tales were a hallmark of her childhood. She initially had a career as a librarian from 1961 to 1971. In 1971 she decided to embark upon a career as a professional writer. Since the publication of her first novel in 1971, she has provided readers with over a dozen novels, as well as a fantasy series known as the "Llandor Trilogy."Sources Something About the Author, Vol 119 pp 103-106.
