Daniel Denny (1758-1822), son of Samuel and Elizabeth Henshaw Denny, was born in Leicester, Mass. In 1783 he married Nancy Watson (1763-1852) of Leicester and around 1793 moved to Worcester, Mass., where he resided until his death. He was in the card-making business for some time and afterwards kept a general store. Daniel Denny, Jr. (1792-1872), eldest son of Daniel Denny, was born in Leicester. He married Maria Fay of Concord, Mass., in 1818. He married his second wife Harriet J. Gardner (1805-1875) of Dorchester, Mass., in 1830. He was trained for a career in business at the store of Breck Parkman in Westboro, Mass., and eventually became a distinguished merchant in Boston.
Austin Denny (1795-1830), second son of Daniel Denny, was born in Worcester and graduated from Yale in 1814. He studied law with Nathaniel Paine ( -1840) of Worcester, was admitted to the bar in 1817, and commenced practice in Harvard, Mass. In 1819 he returned to Worcester and in 1823 married Amelia Burbank. He was editor of the Massachusetts Spy until 1823, when he established the Massachusetts Yeoman of which he was editor, proprietor and publisher until his death. George Denny (1801-1852), third son of Daniel Denny, was born in Worcester and married Charlotte S. Parkman ( -1884) of Westboro in 1824. He went to Boston and became a partner in a business firm with his brother, Daniel. He remained there for some years before moving to Westboro, where he resided until his death. He was president of the Granite Bank of Boston, state senator from Worcester County, and treasurer of the State Reform School in Westboro and the Sullivan Railroad in New Hampshire.
