Biographical History

Texas educational institution affiliated with Antioch College of Yellow Springs, Ohio, as the Juárez-Lincoln Bilingual Center. Also known as Juárez-Lincoln Center, Antioch/Juárez-Lincoln Center, Juárez-Lincoln Bilingual/Bicultural Center, and Juárez-Lincoln University. Split from Colegio Jacinto Treviño ‪(‬Mercedes, Tex.‪)‬ in 1971. Originally offered only a master's degree in education ‪(‬with emphasis on bilingual education‪)‬ accredited as part of Antioch Graduate School of Education. Later administered an information agency ‪(‬National Migrant Information Clearinghouse‪)‬. First had offices in Ft. Worth, but soon moved to St. Edward's University in Austin. Established a separate campus in 1975 and initiated a B.A. program in 1976. Closed in 1979 because of legal, financial, and administrative problems.
