Biographical History

The company, a cotton manufacturer, was founded in 1826. A factory was built in Mason Village, N.H., later called Greenville, about two miles below New Ipswich on the Souhegan River. The charter provided for the manufacture of both cotton and wool goods, but only cotton was ever produced, beginning with shirtings. In 1925, the company was purchased by Otis Company.
