Andrew Lysander Stone was born in Oakland, CA July 16, 1902; educated at the Univ. of Calif.; moved to Hollywood, CA in the 1920s, where he worked in a film laboratory, and in Universal's prop department before directing at Paramount (ca. 1926); he produced and scripted most of his own films; his numerous credits include The Elegy (1926), Julie (1956), Cry terror (1958), The Last voyage (1960), Ring of fire (1961), The Password is courage (1962), and song of Norway (ABC, 1970); died in LA, CA (1999).
