Biographical History

John Deserontyon, sometimes seen as John Deseronto, was a Mohawk chief who served in the British army. He worked with Joseph Brant to establish Indian settlements. He settled a site near the Bay of Quinte in Canada. The town of Deseronto, Ontario, was named for him.
