Biographical History

Edward Fenton was born July 7, 1917; died December 24, 1995. He was an award winning author of children and adult books and a translator. Mr. Fenton attended Amherst College and worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. His best known books are written for children and many focus on Greek Mythology, history, scenery, and life. He received the Mildred L. Batchelder Award for best translation for Petro's War and Wildcat Under Glass . The Phantom of Walking Hill won the Edgar Allan Poe Award in 196l.
