Children's and Young Adult author. One of the first writers of juvenile literature to focus on minority groups. Won the Newbery Award for her children's novel, The Moved Outers. Died in 1980.
Florence Luverne Crannell married Carl Means in 1912 and was a well known Boulder author.
Florence Crannell Means was an American author of juvenile literature. Here works were some of the first to focus on minority groups. Her book, "The Moved-Outers", won the Award of the Child Study Association of America in 1945.
